The main ovarian reserve test involves an internal ultrasound scan, which is carried out between day 1 and day 4 of your cycle. The internal scan allows us to count the number of follicles (small fluid filled sacs) recruited on each ovary every month.
You will also have a blood test taken the same day to measure hormones, which include oestradiol (E2), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and anti-mullerian hormone (AMH).
You will need to book a follow up appointment after your ovarian reserve test.
