About Norah

I see my role as being someone to think with, and with whom  you can talk through your feelings, experiences or worries; or consider your treatment options.

Norah has over 30 years of counselling experience, and has had a specialism within Fertility since 2005. She is an experience relationship and sex therapist and for many years lectured trainee counsellors in fertility issues on PgDip and MSc programmes. She is personally trained and accredited in Mind/Body for Fertility (behavioural medicine to reduce fertility stress) by US Women’s Health Pioneer, Dr Alice Domar (Boston IVF/Harvard).

The emotional burden of a fertility issue can be huge. Norah believes that  providing access to the professional support of people who “get it” can make a difference to the Assisted Reproduction journey, especially if one is feeling lonely, isolated or stuck. She sees her role as being someone to think with, and with whom you can talk through your feelings, experiences or worries; or consider your treatment options.  Norah offers support counselling for individuals and couples, including mind/body strategies if desired. In addition, she provides implications counselling for those who are seeking treatment with donor eggs, sperm and embryos. Norah supports surrogates and intended parents and has a special interest in pregnancy loss and miscarriage.

Achieving something beautiful using donor eggs

21.06.2022

My consultant was Dr Ali Al-Chami and he was excellent. What we really appreciated was his honesty: when we saw him, my fertility was low and he did not sugar-coat anything or offer us false hope. He laid out our options. At first, I was resistant to the idea of a donor egg but as I turned 43 during our 2 IUI treatments, we really did not have much hope if we wanted a baby.
